Draft Florida Representative Allen B. West to run for president!
For myself the delay [in assuming the office of the President] may be compared with a reprieve; for in confidence I assure you, with the world it would obtain little credit that my movements to the chair of Government will be accompanied by feelings not unlike those of a culprit who is going to the place of his execution: so unwilling am I, in the evening of a life nearly consumed in public cares, to quit a peaceful abode for an Ocean of difficulties, without that competency of political skill, abilities and inclination which is necessary to manage the helm.
George Washington, comment to General Henry Knox, March 1789
Where are America’s new heroes? Where are the new John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Audie Murphy, Alvin York and Ronald Reagan? Have they truly been replaced by the likes of Charlie Sheen? I think that answer is no, and we might have one bubbling to the surface right now in Florida Representative Allen B. West (R-FL), US Army Lieutenant Colonel – retired.
Fate can be a cruel and unpredictable mistress and often thrusts itself upon us, wrecking our best laid plans for our own lives. I know Representative Allen West plans on being the absolute best representative from Florida that he can be – an Army of one in a sea of many – serving his constituents with honesty and integrity according to his beliefs and campaign promises. And, he has not announced any future plans for a presidential run, as far as I’m aware, but that rules out nothing in the world of modern American politics.
I believe it a somewhat dubious claim, but some historians say that George Washington was a reluctant servant to his new Nation. But there can be no doubt that despite his reluctance, or possibly even due to that reluctance, he is still one of our greatest servants of liberty and established much of what we do today in government. I also feel that a reluctant servant is far better than a man seeking high office and power. I do not think it hyperbole to say Representative Allen B. West may be on a similar career path as a reluctant servant –hopefully.
For those of you unfamiliar with Representative West there is a pretty good bio at Wikipedia. But for those of you who know my military background and that of my family, dating back to 1775, and trust my judgment, just know that I would follow this man into the fires of hell to battle the devil himself armed only with a squirt gun.
If that isn’t enough, here’s a brief video a friend of mine posted on Facebook Sunday of an encounter Representative West had with someone who claimed he doesn’t do enough to sit down and talk with – explain himself to – his Muslim constituents. For those of you unaware, this is what an American hero looks and sounds like:
If the Republican National Committee and the greater GOP have a single brain cell left, and if the tea party movement is truly about restoring our great nation by drafting good – plain spoken candidates with a backbone, they will seek out Representative West and implore him to step up to the next level as a presidential candidate in 2012. As a minimum it would serve to ensure we have the debate that we need at this perilous time in our history.
It would be great to see a Marco Rubio/Allen West ticket, but the Constitution proscribes two candidates from the same State on the ticket for president and vice president. However, there are some other great options out there that could include Representative West!

WOW! I have heard Congressman West twice in the last two weeks, on video confronted by mulims. America has a lot of repenting and turning back to God to do before we deserve a leader of this caliber. The question is not will he run, the question is will God Bless us with such a leader, because the reason we have a muslim in office now is, he is all we deserve, and God put him there. “…he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:” Daniel 2:20-21.

Col. West,
As a former Marine I deeply respect you and wish the Republican Party had chosen you to run for the office of President. Our country needs men such as yourself to lead us. You are my ” Anti-Obama”.
