King George III versus President Obama according to our Declaration of Independence
Make no mistake about it; I do not now, nor have I ever, advocate armed insurrection, revolution or anything of the sort. What I do advocate is massive civil disobedience by rank and file conservative Americans.
I believe it has been the patient sufferance of Americans to try beyond all reason to work within the law, within the electoral processes and within the media to right the usurpations of our individual Liberty for so many decades.
We have petitioned our government for the redress of grievances only to be repeatedly rebuffed. We have written volumes, spoke millions of word, created new media, campaigned, voted and even peacefully marched.
We have elected politicians who were partisan, bipartisan, moderate, conservative and libertarian. We have organized and worked within our communities and states and yet our government, at all levels, continually becomes increasingly abusive and injurious of our unalienable rights and Supreme Law of the Land.
The allegations below are copied directly from our Declaration of Independence and while I have not changed a word in the allegations I have sought to apply them to President Obama. It is striking just how closely President Obama’s crimes against Americans follow those of King George III.
I have no doubt that King George felt the things he was doing to Colonial Americans were for the “good of all” and what was in the best interest of the “kingdom,” just as Obama claims but they were crimes and usurpations nonetheless because the ends never justify the means, especially when dealing with unalienable rights of free men and Liberty itself.
The history of the present
King of Great Britain(President of the United States) is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.
He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
President Obama has asserted executive privilege where court precedent clearly shows it is not appropriate; he has sought to create a situation through Operation Fast and Furious to support his calls for unconstitutional gun control; he has refused to enforce American immigration law and actually changed those laws – unconstitutionally legislated – by announcing he will issue work permits to illegal aliens; he has refused to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act and defend it in court as required by our Constitution as well a the voting rights act as in with the case of the New Black Panthers.
His Administration has been held in contempt of court for refusing to lift the Gulf of Mexico oil drilling ban following the BP oil spill.
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained;
He has sued Arizona for passing a state law of a pressing nature to secure the peace and freedom of residents within that state; he intentionally created a situation where in the State of Florida could not meet certain legal requirements and then sued the State of Florida for attempting to ensure the sanctity of the vote in that state.
He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.
He de facto dissolved Congress when he made unconstitutional “recess” appointments without the advice and consent of the Senate while the Senate was still in session and not in recess in clear violation of our Constitution; he has used his EPA to enact regulations refused by Congress and the National Labor Relations Board to enact rules rejected by Congress.
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.
The Obama czars have clearly gone beyond any advisors used by previous presidents and he has sent his EPA, IRS, Justice Department and others to to sue private businesses and citizens, confiscate private lands and harass churches, private groups and organizations that oppose him.
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.
He has removed the United States Military from the congressional chain of command and used them in Libya in violation of the War Powers Act and his Secretary of Defense has advised Congress they will go to war upon UN, NATO or other authorization without notifying or seeking specific funding or resolutions from the United States Congress as has always been done by previous presidents even when they have disagreed with the War Powers Act.
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
He is negotiating the Law of the Sea and Small Arms treaties and conspiring with the United Nations to place American sovereignty under foreign rule by default, implementing rules such as Cap and Trade and Agenda 21 pursuant to international rules without the assent of Congress or the People and, in fact, when some of the international rules have specificially been rejected by the representatives of the People.
Now don’t get me wrong, I believe past presidents have acted extra-constitutionally and even unconstitutionally. But let’s look at George W. Bush and some of his agenda with which I disagreed as just one example:
I disagreed with No Child Left Behind; however, that law was passed through Congress and was voluntary for the states – not mandatory.
I disagreed with the State Children’s Health Insurance Plan expansion, but again, it was voluntary to the States and not mandatory.
I disagreed with the Medicare Prescription Drug Bill – Medicare Part D – but again, that is voluntary for the people and not mandatory.
President Obama, on the other hand, uses mandates, abuses regulatory authority and even executive orders to mandate against our unalienable rights.
I’m also familiar with all the consternation over the Patriot Act and George Bush, but that act – law – was at least subjected to congressional debate and the additional checks and balances of the judiciary and was not implemented by executive fiat after being rejected by Congress as Obama is doing with the EPA, IRS and others.
Don’t get me wrong though – I still believe that government at all levels all across America is out of control even when new laws seem to go through the correct process. Even then, as we’ve seen over the decades, those laws can run afoul of our unalienable rights and I don’t just give them a pass. But we’ve never seen an imperial presidency such as that of Obama’s presidency.
President Barack Obama today is clearly every bit as bad in so many respects as was King George III in 1775. The problem is that modern Americans are not as serious or concerned with Liberty as our Founders.

This sounds nothing like the Declaration of Independence that I know. It sounds like the remblings of a person sitting on his adipose filled gluteous maximus, collecting his government
military retirement checks as well as social securiety retirement. Did you work for the State of Florida also. I once had a friend that was tripple dipping. If it doesn’t sound like the Declaration of Independence you know then you need to go back and read the original again.
And yep – I’m sitting here collecting my military retirement – the one that has diminished over the years due to broken promises so our government could dole out more unconstitutional social welfare money – the one I get for spending 20 years in military service to my country at risk of life and limb dragging my family around the country and the world every three years at personal financial loss because moving is never fully compensated by the military and all while earning 18 to 22% less than my civilian counterparts and degrading my body physically in ways my civilian counterparts never had to and civilians cannot even imagine.
And no – I am not on Social Security and I did not work for the State. As to the issue of double or tripple dipping – old and irrelevant argument because even people who work for the government provide a service and pay taxes so I guess in that respect I was self employed while I paid for your Medicare with my tax dollars – other peoples’ Social Security with my tax dollars – welfare for the slothful and irresponsible all the while risking life and limb even in training – much less war.
Why in the world are liberals so damn greedy and covet other peoples’ money all the time?

Randy: Because the only thing that could be done is impeachment and the GOP-controlled House of Representatives does not have the balls and the Senate is Democrat controlled so they would never “convict upon impeachment.”

Great Article, I agree. Obama IS King George for today. When I read the Declaration of Independence now I feel like it wholly applies to the situation the Marxist usurper has us in now! He is hellbent on bringing this nation to it’s knees. Romney / Ryan 2012 – Let’s take our country back!!!

You are operating under the basic assumption that your readers will both know and understand the laws you are referring to and agree with you. Of course, you can never operate under that assumption in the media world. You see, when your evidence (the laws referred to such as the Defense of Marriage Act) is looked into through more bipartisan channels, it does not hold up. You assume that this law along with several others should have been passed for the good of the people. I ask you: what people are you referring to? For white males like yourself, certainly. For upper middle class businessmen, certainly. But do those laws actually benefit the majority of the nation? Certainly not. Also, you fail to inform your readers why any of the laws are beneficial at all. You must also be assuming therefore that anyone who stumbles upon this article will look them up in a proper fashion and do the research themselves. You can never assume that either. Also, you put too much trust into the Declaration of Independence as a purely factual document. Again, I must inform you that you are incorrect. A little bit of context will inform you that the Declaration of Independence is based more off a rhetorical argument bolstered by pathos, not logos. It is merely a sentiment of patriotism and pride. While those are both good things, you cannot take it at face value. I would suggest a better approach next time.

This post accomplishes nothing but a further polarization of the citizens of America. When you single out an individual and vindicate his actions as harmful to the country and its people, you are missing the network which lies behind our nation’s representatives. The president is merely a figurehead with the job of appearing to cater to the needs of his voter base and firming the opposition’s stance on the other side. Our legislative branch is the same, only less individually visible.
What we need to Declare our Independence from is corporate control, which currently permeates every facet of our lives. Corporations have no partisan alignment, they are interested in controlling their investments and pursuing further profits.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion. If you have a website named after you where you can post all the things you want, you are especially entitled to posting your opinion. Anybody coming here ethier knows what your opinions normally lean towards or they are first time readers. Using an emotional argument of why Obama is the Neo King George III is ineffective, and insulting when you try to make it look like a argument based on logic instead of emotion. Opinionate all you want, it is your right, but before you try to spout off “facts” please research them first, instead of providing vague examples with no solid links or sources.

I find it funny that you chose to use a document written over 200 years ago, in order to draw a logical comparison to a current figure. I’m not saying that the Declaration of Independence isn’t important, but because of its age, I don’t find it as relevant today as the people would have two centuries ago. The world is in a constant state of evolution. Life is not the same as it was back then, and for that, I am glad. I don’t want to go back to a time where no one cared about your individual rights unless you were a rich, white, straight male. In this age of global connection, everyone’s voice deserves to be heard, yours included. But the American people have spoken their collective voice. You have the right to continue to spew unfounded “facts” about how President Obama is a terrible tyrant. The fact is that you offer very little actual proof. All I see is assumption, speculation, and your interpretation of an aging document. The majority of America see President Obama as a leader who is pushing to make our country a better place for all people. Not just the rich, not just the straight, not just the men, and not just the white. For all people. That is why today, on MLK day, on the 50th anniversary of the “I Have a Dream” speech, and on the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, President Barack Hussein Obama has been sworn in for a 2nd term. No, he isn’t perfect. He will make mistakes and do things that we might not all agree with. But, at the end of the day, we want this country to continue its evolution into a new age. An age of progress, unity, and with that, peace. Not of hatred, bigotry, and volatile fundamentalism. Either move forward, or get left behind.
