Some people and organizations around America are just now waking up while others have been fighting even the smallest government intrusions all along. The problem is, of course, that once you sign a deal with the devil and let him in you do not get to control his behavior or decide when he calls to collect his due.
Individuals, big business, big banks and even the Catholic Church have signed and resigned deals with the devil over the past many decades only now to recoil when the devil collects his due. The monster they created has turned on them and they are shocked – stunned I tell you – taken aback – flabbergasted even!
The Catholic Church and many Catholic organizations are suing the federal government over Obamacare mandates they say – and I agree – violate their religious liberty by requiring them to participate in sin by funding contraception and abortifacients after years of snuggling up to “big government” for social welfare programs and illegal alien amnesty.
Did they honestly believe that “big government,” the devil, would not get around to them and the things they hold dear?
Now we have this story at theblaze.com telling us how the CEO of JP Morgan is upset with federal regulations and laws that stifle his business, stating:
JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon during a recent interview with New York magazine decried overbearing government regulations, at one point practically shouting, “It’s a free. F**king. Country!”
“We recently had an event with a hundred small bankers here, and 85 percent of them said they can’t challenge the regulation because of the potential retribution. That’s a terrible thing, okay? This is not the Soviet Union — this is the United States of America. That’s what I remember. Guess what?” he asked with a raised voice, “It’s a free. F**king. Country.”
The problem is that “big banks” have long funded politicians and parties that promised to work their will either directly or indirectly and failed to vigorously fight small government usurpations along the way. This, folks, is why the little things matter.
As the old saying goes, take care of the small things and there is be no big ones. Fight the small usurpations as they occur or are attempted and you will rarely get to big ones.
Don’t get me wrong; I agree with the Catholic Church and the JP Morgan CEO. However, the old saying holds true that we reap what we sow.
. . .and then they came for me. . .
